And until you come for me personally describing how important it is- I am a huge AC enthusiast and have been playing since I was a child, I've spend hours on my brand new horizons island. Once I was a kid, I used to need to talk about an island with somebody older than me that wouldn't let me do anything to the staircase except my own room and it took away a great deal of pleasure - I would imagine it'd take away a enormous amount of pleasure on New Horizons because that is a major part of the appeal.

Anyway, I get putting working into your island and being proud of it. However, punishing a child for. . .playing the match? That's just silly. The actuality the island is imitation is immaterial. She still messed with different peoples material when she was told to ask , there has to be some sort of repercussion or dialog before that mentality of"its mine too" or"I wish to do x therefore I will even if I am not supposed to" becomes a part of more than simply jer video game playing.

It is not so apparent to me that collaborative depiction of their principles is true. OP says that she needed"parental consent" for large island changes. I remember being a kid and discussing games with my parents and my (older) step siblings, and phrases such as this usually just meant they would do exactly what they wanted and anything I suggested could be vetoed with rare exceptions. It sort of takes off a great deal of pleasure from the game for a kid. It's like normal, real-world rules for a child except they stretch to a video game. Which, tbh, kind of stinks if OP's case is anything like that. I wouldn't say that OP is TA, however I am not a fan of these sharing that game with their kid in the first place. It only seems like very little upside down for your child. Especially if the change or game has been meant to be theirs, however, is now being heavily policed with their own parents.

There are games where this type of strategy could make sense & not remove from the child's ability to appreciate their switch. However, in animal crossing, where you buy 1 island and can't really roll it back or undo things (as far as I am aware, have not played horizons but did play with the original)? The daughter is basically not experiencing the match. Which sucks if it's meant to be her system or her match.

I had this bullshit as a kid too. Anyone old I shared that a game with (except my Dad who's a legend) would do the entire"you can perform this bit/change this but anything else you need to ask." However if they wanted to change something? They'd"perform a vote" and I would be out numbered.
